What we heard from you

Here is a sampling of some of the messages we received over the years.

Thank you so much for such a fabulous performance at KSS! I know everyone enjoyed it; we're mostly all musicians of some kind, so we had even more appreciation for your amazing work. I've been a huge fan of jazz since I was young and greatly enjoy my school's music program, but you guys are a huge inspiration on top of that. I loved the combination of humour, talent and creativity that made up your show. I also liked how personable and approachable you all are, I found it neat to connect with Graeme especially. Please keep on playing and I look forward to perhaps making a visit up to the Yukon some day!

I heard you at my school in Princeton, B.C.  It was wonderful. The vocals, music, speeches, everything! It really got me in to jazz and now jazz is one of my favorite kinds of music. Caroline you are my favorite (no offence everyone else. you are all very good.) I wish i could meet you again but there is a slim chance of that. Oh i don't know where to start, your performance was breath taking, to me at least. It opened my heart not just to the music but jazz itself. So i want to thank you for this wonderful new kind of music!! sincerely, your biggest fan

I recently saw your concert in Kitchener, Ontario. I was very impressed with how personal you are and how relaxed the atmosphere was in the building. Caroline was amazing.  Not only does she have a beautiful voice, but she is very sexy!  We will be using Jesse Peters' song Simple Words for our wedding next year as our wedding song.  We look forward to seeing you again next time you are in town.

Incredible! My brother - a musician - sent me a tune via email, Fly Me to the Moon, and have been looking for your music ever since and realized I was spelling your name wrong. Sorry I missed your Ontario dates. Great work!!!

"We heard you at the Mt. Hood Festival of Jazz last August and were blown away. We have been jazz fans for 50 years, and are very impressed with your musicianship and stage performance."

dick & zoe hannah, california, u.s.

"I'd like to compliment the band on two wonderful albums, and look forward to hearing a third.  The talent in vocal maturity is shown when comparing, "Fly Me To The Moon," from "When Old Meets New," with the unreleased, Spend My Love."  Caroline's smooth vocal range catches and gives you goosebumps while backing Jesse's melodic jazz lustre. Keep up the good work!

"Hooray for "Backbeat" and you three, plus four great musicians!  A great album, with genuine swing and good taste not often heard these days. Thanks to all concerned, it's a happy reminder of times when jazz and swing preceded rock and roll.  Let's have some more, and soon! Cheers!"

dave robbins (the elder!), british columbia

"Hi! I'd really like to say that your music is great. My mom owns your "When old met new" CD and I like it, and I'm a kid! You guys really express your talent in your music."

"Just writing to say that I love the trio’s style of singing and swinging.  I simply love Caroline’s vocals. I fell in love with the band the moment I heard the album. We may be many miles apart but your music is very much loved by yours truly."

"My wife and I saw you in Dubuque. I just wanted to say I have been a jazz lover for years, played drums and sang too in a great trio for years before settling down and being a good Dad and business man. I want you to know that I am very picky and you guys really brightened my evening. Keep up the good work!"

"You all are so talented!  My friend and I watched one of your shows last spring at Eden Hall in Gleneden Beach, Or, USA, and I was completely amazed.  I purchased your latest CD, Backbeat, and I have gotten anyone I know who is at all interested in Jazz or Bigband to listen to it.  I have heard no complaints, only wonderful compliments from the people who listened to your music. I am now a fan for life! Keep makin' music, and I'll keep lovin' it."
